Workouts
These are the programs I'm familiar with, all of them I can recommend:
- P90 - A precursor to P90X. This is a good workout, my only complaint is it's leg intensive. They have several leg workouts, but also have several aerobic workouts, which are essentially more leg workout. I'd recommend it for beginners, but keep an eye on the knees.
- P90X - The gold standard. Did this workout for about 10 years, and every time I tried something else I'd end up back doing P90X.
- Body Beast - If you can get thru all the Bro macho style, this is an excellent workout. It's primarily a strength workout, will build maximum muscles by starting with light weight/max reps, pushing to the max weight/minimum reps, then cycling back to light weight/max reps. Excellent workout, highly recommended.
- 645 - As I'm nearing end of my late 60s, I need something that was less stress on joints, particularly my knees. 645 is perfect for this, maybe 60% of the exercises are core or glute related. Think planks and dead lifts. When my core is dialed in, everything works better.
