Today we backtracked to Montana and visited the Little Big Horn Battlefield National Monument. This is the site of Custer's Last Stand. In June of 1876 Custer and 210 of his men were defeated by several thousand Lakota, Arapahoe and Cheyenne warriors in the valley of the Little Big Horn River.

The monument here, about 75 miles Southeast of Billings, Montana, commemorates the dramatic climax of the Indian Wars by preserving the site of this American Indian victory. It is a very interesting story of American history, and well worth a visit if one is in this neck of the woods.

The photos show the cemetery as it is now, the Memorial marker and scenes where some of the soldiers fell along with one Cheyenne warrior.

Love to all from the homeless ones, Bob & Virginia
